The goal of this project was to answer an urging question facing the warehouse of the Restos du Coeur in Saint-Denis : How can we limit mistakes in the loading of non-perishable items.

Les Restos du Coeur is the largest food bank in France, serving meals to thousands of people every day, all across the country.

This distribution center prepares orders containing items such as canned food, milk, sugar, cutlery, and plates for food distributions around the north of Île-de-France. The employees, who are in professional reintegration, do not all read or write French yet. However, they must navigate a complex system of lists and instructions entirely in French to pack the orders for several food distributions each day.

We designed and produced signage throughout the warehouse, as well as two carts that allow workers to optimise their tasks and prevent oversights. The system facilitates navigation through the centre with clear visual and colour aids, and the carts are designed to make it easy to see if anything is missing. With compartments allowing items to be organised by category, workers no longer have to make multiple trips using unsuitable trolleys.

Each cart also comes with tools attached, enabling workers to adapt the trolley to their needs over time.
